Terms of Service

1. What brckts is

brckts lets you predict the results of real tournaments, run pools with friends, and keep score. You can also set up your own tournaments and enter their results. It’s free to use.

2. Your account

• You need to be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• Give accurate information, and keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
• One person per account. Pool owners may add players who don’t have an account yet and fill in their picks for them.

3. Pools and the pot

brckts never collects, holds or pays out money. If your pool has an entry fee, brckts only helps the owner keep track of who has paid and how the pot splits. Collecting and paying out is between the people in the pool. The pot is yours to keep.

• Pool owners set the rules, the fee and the payout, and they’re responsible for running their pool fairly.
• You’re responsible for making sure your pool is legal where you and your players live. Some places restrict games played for money.
• We aren’t a party to any arrangement between pool members, and we can’t settle disputes about payments.

4. Results and scores

We work hard to record real results correctly. Some are entered automatically from public sources and checked afterwards, and mistakes can happen. When we find one we correct it, and scores and standings update with it. Don’t rely on brckts as the official record of any competition.

5. Your content

You own what you add to brckts, such as names, photos, tournaments and pools. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people it’s meant for, so brckts can work. Don’t add anything you don’t have the right to share, or anything unlawful, hateful or meant to harass someone.

6. Using brckts fairly

• Don’t try to break, overload or get around the security of brckts.
• Don’t scrape it, or access other people’s accounts or picks.
• Don’t use brckts to send spam or invites to people who haven’t asked for them.

We may suspend or remove accounts, pools or tournaments that break these terms.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. We may stop offering brckts, or parts of it. If we do, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.

8. No warranty

brckts is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate.

9. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of brckts. That includes losses from disputes over a pot, or from a result or score being wrong. Our total liability to you is limited to US$50.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.

11. Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll email you before it takes effect. Questions go to privacy@brckts.app.
